Ali (Amir Farrokh Hashemian) é um menino de 9 anos proveniente de uma família humilde e que vive com seus pais e sua irmã, Zahra (Bahare Seddiqi). Um dia ele perde o único par de sapatos da irmã e, tentando evitar a bronca dos pais, passa a dividir seu próprio par de sapatos com ela, com ambos revezando-o. Enquanto isso, Ali treina para obter uma boa colocação em uma corrida que será realizada, pois precisa da quantia dada como prêmio para comprar um novo par de sapatos para a irmã.
