A man armed with a gun shows up in a residential neighborhood. He takes a woman hostage and holes up inside a nearby home. Conan and Kogoro rush to the scene after seeing the situation on TV. The police are confused by the culprit's nonsensical demands. The homeowner arrives and tells the police not to worry about breaking down doors or walls since the home is vacant and will be demolished the next day. While they're talking outside, two gunshots are heard from inside the house...
